For the month of April (2009), my roommate Amir Demeke and I traveled around Rwanda and Eastern Congo to search out stories and information regarding the genocide of 1994 and the reconciliation, reconstruction, and general change that has followed.  Below are some of the people we met along the way.  As you follow each picture, we have provided an explanation of how we met, a description of each personal story, and film clips from interviews and discussions in which we participated.  We hope that through these stories, you will get a clearer idea of the Rwandan genocide, the country today, and how the country has changed in the past 15 years.  This is certainly a work in progress and will be constantly updated as we edit footage, gather our information, and especially when we return to the U.S. in mid-May and have access to faster internet for uploading video.  Thank you in advance for you interest and your patience as we gather our thoughts, information, and images.
